Sex and Gender in Research Post 1

Social Media Series - Sex and Gender Dimensions in Research Projects

The inclusion of the sex/gender dimension means that differences, whether biological or social, are taken into account in research and teaching. It is therefore crucial that the knowledge that is created through research and transferred through education is free of gender bias. The integration of the gender dimension addresses the incorporation of sex and/or gender analysis through the entire Research & Innovation cycle.

In this new social media series we are introducing various facets of the gender and sex dimension.

The EOSC4Cancer project officially wrapped up on May 31st, but its work within the EU Cancer Mission and beyond will be carried forward by a host of new projects. Two of these projects are the CANDLE Project and EU-CIP.

The CANDLE Project, which kicked off on 1 June 2025, launched its three-year mission to build a robust cancer research infrastructure across EU Member States. The EU Cancer Info Portal (EU-CIP) will create a platform hosting reliable and easy-to-understand information for cancer patients, their families, and caregivers across Europe.

Follow the CANDLE Project and EU-CIP pages to stay up to date with our work towards understanding, preventing, diagnosing, and treating cancer.
