World Cancer Day is tomorrow. Every year since this day was initially created on February 4, 2000, the world has celebrated each step toward fewer preventable deaths and improved quality of life for cancer patients. This day has grown into a positive movement to provide all support in cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
As the theme for the years 2022-2024 of this day is ‘Close the care gap’, the 29 organisations in the EOSC4Cancer consortium are working to expedite progress by making various cancer data accessible across borders to support cancer research. This data which will cover all the stages the patient goes through will be employed to be used in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
