The EOSC4Cancer consortium comprises 29 parties, as well as four affiliated entities, from 13 countries.
The principal investigators in EOSC4Cancer are Prof. Alfonso Valencia and Dr. Salvador Capella-Gutierrez. Prof. Alfonso, director of the Spanish National Bioinformatics Institute (INB-ISCIII), is dedicated to the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence to Personalized Medicine, and development of software platforms for the extraction, integration and representation of big data for large-scale genome projects. Dr. Capella-Gutierrez leads the Spanish National Bioinformatics (INB) Coordination Node at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) focussing on the development of long-term infrastructures to facilitate the scientific benchmarking and technical monitoring of bioinformatics tools, web services and workflows in the context of ELIXIR.
