Kaia Palm (PhD) is the CEO and co-founder of Protobios. She is an expert of applied immunology, has more than 15 years of experience in academia and most recently holds associate professorship in Estonian two top universities. Under her leadership, Biolaborid Llc (Estonia) built the cGMP infrastructure, first in the region, for manufacturing advanced cell therapy products. She has published >40 peer-reviewed publications and is the co-inventor of MVA, the core technology of Protobios based on the next generation phage display that allows in-depth profiling of antibody immune response from blood.

Kaia has a PhD in chemistry from the University of Tartu, Estonia, and a PhD degree in medical neuroscience from Karolinska Institute, Sweden. Since 2019, she is the member of the scientific expert panels of life sciences, medical and health sciences of Estonian Research Council. In 2020, she was nominated by Estonian Research Council to AcademiaNet network of excellent female researchers of all disciplines.
