Another successful EOSC4Cancer Cancer Landscape Partners (CLP) Meeting was wrapped up on February 23rd, with a large cohort of Work Package 6 members and partners in attendance. On the day’s agenda were two talks by partner projects SciLake and RAISE, followed by a collective discussion and question session.
The first talk of the day was held by Despoina Petsani of AUTH Medical Physics & Digital Innovation Lab, who discussed the transition from Open Data to Data Open for processing, highlighting the RAISE project as an example for cancer data. Thanasis Vergoulis of ATHENA RC and Leily Rabbani of Karolinska Instituet followed with a presentation on SciLake, the project’s vision, roadmap, challenges, and aims.
The presentations were followed by a discussion on Synergies and Challenges in Research Infrastructures for Cancer Data. Some common challenges were identified, like the everchanging EOSC landscape, shifts in technology, lack of data science expertise from some domain knowledge experts, and more. The question of what benefits could be drawn from the RAISE Synthetic data generator also arose.
This was another meeting rich in information and useful discussions. Especially important was the introduction to the SciLake project and the discussion regarding the shift from Open Data to Data Open. We look forward to more engaging meetings!
